Water requirements: Frequent and thorough waterings. Keep soil moist.
Lighting requirements: While it will adapt to low light conditions, brighter light is recommended to see those beautiful blossoms.

Begonia

Next up we have the beautiful Begonia. Not only are they available in a variety of different shapes and colors, but they are also relatively easy to care for indoors.
Water requirements: They are very susceptible to being overwater. To avoid overwatering, be sure that they dry out completely in between watering.
Lighting requirements: Place them in an area where they are going to get plenty of indirect sunlight.
Temperature requirements: Between 60 and 70 degrees Fahrenheit.
Size: Depending on the species these houseplants can grow anywhere from 6 to 12 inches tall.
Humidity levels: High humidity levels.
Pet friendly: They are toxic for pets. You will need to exercise caution.
Orchid

Many people shy away from orchids thinking they are too difficult to maintain. So, are they difficult to keep indoors? At times they can be. Especially when it comes to trying to get them to bloom. However, with that being said, when you see those beautiful pink blossoms in your home, you will be happy you put in the extra effort.

Water requirements: Orchids like to be in moist soil, but not too wet. A general guideline is to water them once a week.

Do you have an empty windowsill? Well, look no further. The Kalanchoe has its name on your window sill.
Other names: Flaming Katy, Panda plant, Christmas kalanchoe
Water requirements: They like to be in moist soil, but not too wet. Allow them to dry out in between waterings.
Lighting requirements: They produce the most flowers when exposed to 8 to 10 hours of sunlight. A window sill is a perfect location for your Kalanchoe plant.
Temperature requirements: Average temperature between 60 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit. It is very sensitive to cold temperatures.
Size: It can grow anywhere from 12 to 18 inches tall and between 12 to 18 inches wide.

Gloxinia (Sinningia speciosa)

With those fluffy pink flowers and velvety leaves who can say no to Gloxinia? Not me!

Water requirements: They thrive best when watered regularly, but be careful not to overwater.
Lighting requirements: Bright indirect light is all they need.
Temperature requirements: Average temperature between 60 and 75 degrees Fahrenheit.
Size: It can grow anywhere from 8 to 12 inches tall.
Humidity levels: Average humidity levels.
Pet friendly: Yes, it is safe to have around your furry little friends!
Crown Of Thorns (Euphorbia milii)

If you are looking for a houseplant that will thrive in just about any location, take a closer look at the Crown of Thorns.
Other names: Euphorbia milii, Christ Plant, Christ Thorn.
Water requirements: Because this plant is a succulent if from time to time you forget to water it, it isn’t going to die on you. With that being said, when the soil is dry give it a good watering. However, they don’t like to sit in wet soil for long periods. In order to avoid root rot, be sure to place it in a pot that drains well.
Lighting requirements: The Crown of Thorns likes direct sunlight. Place it in a window where it is going to receive 3 to 4 hours of direct sunlight throughout the day.
Temperature requirements: Average temperature between 65 and 75 degrees Fahrenheit.
Size: Indoors it can grow up to 2 feet tall.
Humidity levels: They prefer dry areas.
Other requirements: This plant has thorns, be sure to wear gloves when handling it.
Pet friendly: This plant is toxic to pets. Extra caution is recommended for those with pets.
Geranium

Another indoor houseplant that is easy to care for is the Geranium. It is important to keep in mind that there are a number of different Geraniums. They are available in a number of different colors, white, red, lavender, and of course pink. However, with that being said, Regal or Martha Washing Geraniums are known to produce some of the largest blooms.

Water requirements: Be sure to water your Geraniums regularly, but allow the soil to dry out between waterings.
Lighting requirements: Geraniums like direct sunlight. it is important to place them in a location where they are going to receive 6 to 8 hours of direct sunlight.
Temperature requirements: Geraniums prefer cooler temperatures between 60 and 70 degrees Fahrenheit would be best.
Size: Depending on the species they can grow up to 48 inches tall.
Humidity levels: Average. If possible avoid high humidity levels.
Pet friendly: This plant is toxic to pets.
Desert Cactus

If you (like me) often forget to water or care for your indoor plants, you may want to look for a Flowering Desert Cactus. These cacti come in all kinds of shapes and sizes and best of all they are extremely easy to care for.
Water requirements: Cactus enjoy a good watering, preferably once a week. Be sure the soil can drain properly.
Lighting requirements: Desert cacti do best in direct sunlight. Anywhere between 4 to 6 hours of direct sunlight.
Temperature requirements: Generally they can tolerate pretty high temperatures, but it would be best to keep them between 65 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
Size: The size can vary depending on the species.
Humidity levels: They prefer dry areas.
Pet friendly: Yes! However, don’t forget about the thorns!
Amaryllis

You can light up just about any room in the house with the beautiful Amaryllis. Despite what you might think, they are relatively pretty easy to care for as well.
Other common names: Naked lady, Jersey Lily, Amarillo
Water requirements: Water regularly to keep the soil moist. To avoid problems try no to get the exposed part of the bulb wet when watering.
Lighting requirements: Amaryllis likes direct sunlight. However, keep in mind that the stalk will grow toward the sunlight. With that in mind, rotate the pot regularly so that the stalk with grow straight.
Temperature requirements: Keep them in temperatures between 60 and 70 degrees Fahrenheit.
Size: The flowering stalks can grow up to 2 feet tall.
Humidity levels: The ideal would be around 65 percent humidity level.
Pet friendly: It can be toxic to both dogs and cats.
